KEEP CALM AND EAT PERSIAN FOOD
9:03 PM
“THIS IS PERSIA!”
Not Sparta. Lol. Just quoting that memorable line from the movie 300. I couldn’t help it. And yes, here I go again, the forever food lover explores!
Introducing one of the newest restaurants here in the city that serves the most appetizing Persian cuisine, drumrolls please… Say hello to ABABU PERSIAN KITCHEN!
Located at One Montecarlo Bldg. Corrales-Hayes Street, beside XU Tita Fannie’s
Finally, one of the hippest restaurants in Manila has come to invade Cagayan de Oro. I find it really intriguing that our city has become more open to restaurants that serve different types of food from all over the world. Hmmm. Like Italianni’s, Bigby’s, Roadhouse or Mandarin, for example. It’s actually a pretty good thing that we get to experience something new every once in a while.
They got this really cool wall where you can easily choose what you want to order.
I love this part of the wall! Dine in and get your pictures posted there too! Spot me. My annoying face is in four of those photos! Lol. Hahaha!
I love the fact that the place is pretty clean all the time and they have another part of the place where it is air-conditioned. Thank God. Considering that it’s almost summer, we need this part of the restaurant! Me and my friends love to eat and stay here a lot because aside from the great food and aura, the service team here is really friendly and they really assist their customers well. Whenever you have questions about the food, they’d always be glad to help. The new dim lights are cool by the way. They make the place look more relaxing and people could be comfy just by sitting there.
Anyway, I’m gonna stop talking about the place. What’s a great restaurant without great food? And believe me when I tell you that their food is really addicting. I’m actually craving for my favorite beef kebab right now. Errr.

So what’s the first thing that comes to your mind when people talk about Persian food? I honestly had no idea before. All that came to my mind was the thought of Aladdin or that Prince of Persia movie.Geez. Yes, I’m weird like that. Anyways, eating is one of my favorite hobbies so yeah, I like to be adventurous when it comes to food. The only way to know how good something is, is to try that something.
The photo above is one of their best-sellers. If you have a knack for spicy food, then KEEMA MOTABAL RICE woud be the perfect meal for you. They have their personally-flavored hot sauce too if you want yours to be extremely spicy. Most of my friends find this the best one here and we constantly argue about it because I’m forever in TEAM BEEF KEBAB! For those who are on a diet and you don’t wanna eat rice, there’s always an alternative and it’s the famous pita bread. Pair it with their oh-so-yummy garlic sauce and you’re in heaven. NOM NOM NOM!
Ah yes. I would definitely vouch for this! Ababu’s BEEF KEBAB is definitely on my list of top favorite food. Think charbroiled ground beef with grilled tomatoes and onions! I wouldn’t want to spoil you guys though. You have to try it to know it.

They also have chicken kebab served here. And that’s only some of their yummy dishes. For shawarma lovers, you seriously have to try theirs here.

As much as I wanna go on talking about how delicious Persian food is, you should go visit the place to find out for yourself.
OH! Before I forget, for those gym beasts and workout addicts out there, the food here is perfect for you since most Persian dishes are prepared with herbs, vegetables, and rice.
The milkshake I’m currently addicted to aside from Chingkeetea’s Wintermelon Milktea
I had fun pouring this one on my own cupcake! Gotta love Molten cupcakes!

Well of course, the fun doesn’t end there. They also serve milkshakes, cupcakes and cakes for dessert. And my oh my, I’m so into their MONSTER MILKSHAKES and it’s very affordable. The one in cookies and cream tastes somewhat like the one in Starbucks. For real.
“One cannot think, love, or sleep well if one has not dined well.”
So if you’re looking for wellness, eat at Ababu Persian Kitchen. I hope this blog has been helpful! Stay tuned for my next food adventures!XOXO
