SAGPULON FALLS, JASAAN
5:50 AM
The road to Jasaan was not new to us anymore since I travel to Balingasag a lot -- my Dad's hometown. Jasaan is just almost 45 minutes away from Cagayan de Oro. You could download this app called Waze in your phone and you'll get clear directions on how to get there. You could also use google maps for it.
It's not hard to locate Jasaan in Misamis Oriental. There are lots of signs on the roads informing you where you are already. After Villanueva, that will be the place of destination. You really have to pay attention to the signs so you won't get past it. Along the way, you might see a resort called Spring View. That was our turning point. Just turn to the right and go straight. There are a few turns on the way there but don't worry, you can ask for directions from the locals there. You can also ride a habal-habal on the way to the top so if you don't have a car, you don't have to worry.
Prepare yourself for a bumpy ride! The road is not completely done yet but I think they're doing something about it which is good. We arrived at their parking area around 4pm. Just bring what you need and brace yourselves for a 10-15 minute walk towards the Falls.
I'm being the scaredy panda girlfriend right now. Heights are NOT my thing! |
CHOS!!! |
OMG! I wasn't informed that a hanging bridge would greet us first! *cries*
(Hahaha! Pero nakapag-gopro vid pa rin kahit paano!)
Hold on to your companion! The path could be a bit slippery. (Chancing! Haha!)
Nature is everything |
And yaaay, we're finally here!
TRUE OR FALLS |
Gaaah! I live for these spontaneous moments!!! |
I so love the breeze and the energy of the falls! |
Kumusta yung towel, bes? |
But of course, there's always room for cheesy obligatory photos! Hahaha! Enjoy nature and let it heal you. This is just exactly what I need since my exams are done for the semester and I know the sembreak would just be good for a day or two.
Sagpulon Falls is truly worth it! It kind of reminded me of Katibawasan Falls in Camiguin, only this one's nearer and more accessible. It's a good kind of bonding experience with your fam, barkada, or your significant other. It's nice to just look at this beauty and leave your worries for a while.
Just a little tip, you have to get here before 5pm since they won't allow anyone swimming anymore after 5:00 due to safety reasons. Do take good photos but again, don't forget to put your cameras down and appreciate the beautiful scenery. I've come to realize God's creations is just one of His many ways to comfort us in these trying times. I'm in awe.
I hope you could get to visit this place too! This is something to be proud of our country. Hopefully, I could show you more trips involving nature. Any suggestions?
Till my next adventure!
