5 PLACES TO VISIT IN SINGAPORE

Come away with me to Asia's Lion City. This place has been branded as one of the top emerging countries of the world. Rumor has it that the people here are very well-disciplined and they implement their laws very strictly. This was under the rule of the late Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's first Prime Minister. What a dream for every country! And now that I've finally visited this place, I am happy to confirm that those aren't just rumors. Singapore truly is superb! Don't have second thoughts about booking that ticket now.
What a big group we are! Hello from the Lasaca family! Photo taken at Changi International Airport |
Last summer, my family and I went on a 5-day trip to Singapore. And trust me, those 5 days were not enough at all but I'm glad we were able to use up the time we had there efficiently. Singapore is not a humongous country like Korea or Japan, but there's definitely so much to explore. You'll be so impressed with what this place holds.
So, what are some of the many places you can visit here? I'm about to share with you some of the best parts of my Singapore trip!
1. MARINA BAY SANDS

Mother and Daughters moment! MIA: Dad (obviously not complete without you) |
Just really appreciating life's simple things like this one over here |
2. GARDENS BY THE BAY
Flower Dome, Gardens By The Bay |
Not far from Marina Bay is this stunning man-made garden. This part is a complete breather by the way. Don't forget to put your phones and cameras down after taking photos because you might not get to really appreciate the view. The lights, the colors and the music are all so beautiful! It's like you're in a different world or something. It opens from 9am-9pm and they actually have a show by 9pm so you better buy your tickets ahead. It's a must-go!
These streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you |
What a magical moment this was -- just staring into those lights and being carefree! |
3. ARTS & SCIENCE MUSEUM

I was so excited about waking up the next day because it's my first time in this country and I couldn't wait to satisfy my wanderlust. This museum is not your ordinary museum! No offense but I'm not really a big fan of science. I love arts but science, not so much. Who knew that by visiting this place, I would have so much fun! Not only will you discover so much about art and science but there are also lots of interesting things to do that's really gonna amaze you and your companions. The tickets cost around 13SGD to 16SGD (1 Singapore Dollar = Php 35).
Shining, shimmering, splendid. Yes, you have to pass through that! |

4. MERLION PARK
Merlion Fountain, One Fullerton Road |
Have you ever wondered about the story of the half lion, half fish aka the Merlion? Well, you MUST stop over this tourist spot at One Fullerton Road to find out. It's also one of Singapore's landmarks so you won't get lost in getting here because the people here are already familiar with this destination. And oh, I forgot to mention, the people in Singapore are also very good at speaking English so you won't worry so much about asking for directions. Just be sure you can speak English, by the way. Haha! (And the Panda jokes...)

Cute cafes surround this park so don't worry about getting hungry or parched |
5. SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDENS
Opens at 5am-12mn; located at 1 Cluny Rd, Singapore |
I always try to include any sort of nature trip in my itinerary because I'm a firm believer of how good it is for the soul. I'm also suggesting to include this in your itinerary because all the walking here will really reconnect you with nature itself and the place has got some really spectacular views. It made me contemplate on how much more beauty this world could offer.
Friendly tip: Do wear your rubber shoes when you visit here! |
It's a 156-year old tropical garden by the way |
This is not even half of the things I wanna share to you but I will try not to make this blog post too long. Universal Studios (of course), the Singapore River Cruise and the Singapore Zoo are also the top attractions in this country. Make sure to fit them all in your itinerary for the best Singapore experience. I hope this has been helpful so far. Till another Singapore entry soon! Have a great week!
