WHERE TO ENJOY FILIPINO CUISINE IN THE CITY

1:14 AM

"Where to eat? Where's a good place to chill?" I thought to myself on an afternoon. I think that's one of the most common questions we've asked ourselves this summer. Maybe you've been figuring out where to dine with your family or relatives but you just can't stand the crowded malls or usual restaurants. I highly recommend this venue that serves delicious Filipino food, has got a relaxing ambiance and plays good music.

Everybody needs a little time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Gotta take a break from our daily routines! So where's a place not super far where you can do so? Through the Diversion Road going to Indahag, Taguanao (or if you know the road to the Convention Center here in Cagayan de Oro), you'll reach this restobar. You won't get easily lost because they have directions and signs on the way there. Download the Waze app on your phone and use it to get there. It makes your life so much easier! Instant mini roadtrip!

What to do there? Zordz is a restaurant and a bar that's got a live acoustic band to serenade their customers every night. They have KTV rooms, function rooms for events, and they have a game zone where people can opt to use. The place looks really awesome at night when they'd light up the whole area. Since it's also an outdoor type of restaurant, we can all enjoy the cool night breeze.

In an interview (or more like chikka minute) with the daughter of the owner of this establishment, Chrissa Villazorda, she shares that the idea of Zordz came to mind because her father always wanted to engage in this type of business. The thought of having a place where people can unknot from all the stress was something he aspired to create. Her dad, Engr. Roger Villazorda, was fondly called "Zordz" by his friends, a nickname taken from his own family name. Thus, the name of this place. It opened two years ago on July 24, 2015 and in almost two months, they'll be turning 2! I'm excited what they'll have in store for us by then.

The structure of the place is also great for taking photos!

Moving on to the main thing, the food here is greatly pleasing! My picks include their crispy pata, sizzling sisig, bulalo, hito, and kinilaw which I personally tried with Ton. Because of the wide variety of food on their menu, you can really try out different kinds of Filipino dishes. (Don't worry, I'm posting a photo of their menu below! 😏) Try their boodle feast too if you're with a big group. There are all kinds of sets available for 4-9 persons. I must say, this is also a good venue for family/class reunions since the place has a 170-pax capacity. I also recommend this place for tourists (especially foreigners) who want to have a taste of real Filipino cuisine.

The place looks even more stunning at night! Not only will you love the lights and the breeze but it's made even better with acoustic hits playing all night. It's definitely a good one-stop recreational spot where we could go chillin' like a villain.

💗

I heard they're gonna be adding more amenities to the place which I'm definitely looking forward to. Savor your summer by putting this place on your hangout list. I'm happy that lots of restaurants here in the city are promoting Filipino cuisine already. One of the things we should be proud of is our Filipino dishes. This place offers you the traditional style that you must certainly try.

A big thank you to Zordz Restobar for trusting me with this collaboration!
